Spectral Templates
The available spectral templates are split into two groups, one for stellar templates and one
for non-stellar templates. All templates are listed with their name from the pull-down menu in the
web application. Users who prepare and upload their own object lists can refer to a template by
putting the number given as SPECTEMP entry in the column SPECTEMP of the object list.
All templates are illustrated with a figure and offered for download (in ASCII format).
Stellar Templates
The stellar templates were all taken from the 1993 Kurucz stellar atmosphere atlas, which is available at the
Calibration Database System (CDBS) at the STScI (see [1]). Only spectra with solar metallicity
were used. We followed the suggestions in [1] to identify the closest Kurucz model
for the various spectral types and luminosity classes.

Non-Stellar Templates
With the exception of the QSO, all non-stellar templates are based on the Kinney et al. (1996) spectra ([3]).
However different methods were used to extend the templates into the IR, and a reference or explanation is given for
each spectrum.
